Introducing the "Innovations in Data" Series

The Data Foundation is excited to launch our Innovations in Data Series! The series will highlight innovative approaches that leverage the strategic value of government data and offer insights for improving the national data ecosystem in the United States. Data Foundation researchers identify a social issue where academic researchers, the public sector, the private sector, and government agencies have overcome a data challenge with novel solutions and share lessons learned.

Our first briefing looks at the important role data play in improving social care and  health, particularly through the lens of the social determinants of health, which have taken a new, incredible urgency as we struggle to deal with the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. Key innovations mentioned in our first brief include standardizing data for meta-analyses, longitudinal data collection, and modernizing health systems.
