Overview

The Data Foundation is proud to announce the 2025 Datum Awards nomination period has opened! Datum Awards 2025 will be our seventh annual award series that celebrates exceptional government data champions who are transforming how we use data and evidence to better serve the public.

The need for evidence-based decision-making remains salient, the Datum Awards spotlight federal leaders who are creating and advancing meaningful initiatives that transform data into strategic policies and deliver impactful results.

Awards will recognize leaders across all three positions established under the Foundations for Evidence-Based Policymaking Act, as well as political leaders and other categories that align with the Data Foundation’s mission of making government more effective and transparent through the better use of data.

Who We’re Looking For

The 2025 Datum Awards celebrate individuals currently working in the U.S. federal government who have exemplified leadership and innovation in data-driven public service. Nominees we’re looking for will have: 

  • Shown sustained commitment to using data for the public good
  • Served as a model, leader, or champion for the data and evidence community
  • Advanced evidence-informed decision-making, accountability and transparency in government
  • Demonstrated characteristics reflecting the Data Foundation’s mission and values


Accomplishments must have occurred within the past 12 months. 
Note: Only current U.S. federal government employees are eligible. Corporate, non-profit, and academic nominees without government affiliation will not be considered.
