Overview

In the fall of 2022, the Federal Advisory Committee on Data for Evidence Building (ACDEB) issued its final recommendations to the White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB) for bolstering data-sharing capabilities in the United States. The recommendations included key strategies for implementing a National Secure Data Service at the National Science Foundation (NSF) and methods for the governance, oversight, and accountability of the operation. During this virtual event on January 31, 2023, former members of the Advisory Committee provided an overview of the recommendations, and experts discussed the implications, strategies, and opportunities for NSF and OMB to successfully implement those recommendations in 2023.
