Use of artificial intelligence (AI) across the government has the potential to increase the rate of data intake and analysis, usher insights to decision-makers, support research, identify and predict areas of need, and much more. From deploying the technologies to plan for disaster relief, aid the COVID-19 vaccine roll outs, identify financial fraud and abuse, to parse regulatory code for updates and correct mistakes, AI solutions have improved government functions. During the showcase, members of the Data Coalition demonstrated how the proper use of AI addressed a scope of needs help the federal government better serve the public, and discuss opportunities where ethical, explainable AI could make government performance more efficient and effective.
