Attendees joined the Data Foundation for the release of the latest Federal CDO Survey report! The Data Foundation, in collaboration with Deloitte, conducted its fifth annual iteration of the Federal CDO Survey, revealing a maturing CDO function across the federal government, with evolving priorities and confidence in the CDO roles – alongside growing concern with limited capacity and a lack of guidance. 

In the virtual launch webinar, attendees heard from the report author, federal Chief Data Officers, and other data leaders in an engaging discussion on key trends and insights into the CDO community in an ever-evolving data environment. Learn more about how CDOs are approaching artificial intelligence (AI) and innovative technologies and calling for a more unified, government-wide strategic framework for data governance.

The Data Foundation’s CDO Survey aims to understand the evolving role of federal CDOs since the passage of the Foundations for Evidence-Based Policymaking Act of 2018, which established a framework to leverage data as a strategic asset and designated federal Chief Data Officers to oversee federal data governance and management responsibilities.
