Overview

Anecdotal impacts of intense flooding, extreme heat, bomb cyclones, and prolonged droughts coupled with scientific studies of climate risk are well-known. While business leaders, insurers, investors, government officials, and researchers have access to sophisticated models predicting climate risks, access to how people process, act on, and engage with climate-related information is lesser known. Insights into how people respond to data in the face of their lived experience is crucial for decision-makers.

Our expert panel discussed best practices for communicating and assessing data about climate risks, describing which strategies lead to engagement and evidence-informed solutions. The panel also explored practical applications of this integrated approach, from policy development to public-facing engagement, showing how a data perspective can drive effective climate decision-making.
