The Data Foundation, in collaboration with Deloitte, is pleased to present the findings from our 2025 Federal Chief Data Officer Survey, offering critical insights into the evolving role of data leadership across federal agencies and beyond.
This year's survey captures perspectives from CDOs during a year of significant transition. Our findings reveal how these leaders are navigating substantial organizational changes, evolving responsibilities, and shifting resource landscapes while continuing to advance data-driven government.
The survey examines critical developments in federal data leadership: implementation of long-awaited guidance, the integration of AI into the CDO role, evolving organizational relationships, and progress in building data maturity across agencies.
