Liv A. Watson

Liv A. Watson is a Senior Fellow at the Data Foundation, contributing to both Special Projects and the Climate Data Collective. She co-founded the Global Digital Single Market Data Alliance (DSMDA) project, as well as the open data standards XBRL and the XBRL International Consortium. Her extensive work has been crucial in the advancement of global digital business reporting standards. With over 25 years of experience in promoting digital transformation of financial and sustainability reporting, Liv is a key figure in driving the development of standards for a more transparent and sustainable future. She actively collaborates with prominent market regulators, accounting bodies, and institutions, advocating for the implementation of digital reporting to improve corporate governance and social responsibility reporting. Her involvement with XBRL includes serving on the IFRS XBRL Advisory Committee and the XBRL International Steering Committee. A widely published author in international journals like the Harvard Business Review, Liv also serves on the editorial board of the International Journal of Disclosure and Governance. Her contributions include several significant publications such as XBRL for Dummies, The Governance, Risk and Compliance Handbook, The Landscape of Integrated Reporting, and Effective Auditing for Corporations.
