Data as a Service
Data-as-a-Service (DaaS) tools can improve the federal government’s capacity and capabilities to share, analyze, and use data as an asset in decision-making processes
As data capabilities continue to advance and evolve and the public’s expectations for service delivery are raised, there is an opportunity for the federal government to approach data as not only an input for programmatic and operational decision-making, but as a service in its own right. The federal government has made significant strides in its approach to leveraging data as a strategic asset, as required by the Foundations for Evidence-Based Policymaking Act (Evidence Act).
The Data Foundation focus on DaaS will hone in on the opportunities to clarify the role of DaaS tools in the federal government. The Data Foundation aims to address questions and concerns related to integrating DaaS tools in federal operation to support agencies as well as Congress to forward evidence-based policymaking and decision-making in a way that enables more efficient, effective government function and improves customer service experiences for the public.
