The Data Foundation invites Data Coalition Members to please join us on Tuesday, October 21, 1:00 - 2:00 pm ET for a members-only roundtable with Data Foundation Center for Evidence Capacity Senior Fellow Lauren Damme, Ph.D.
Do you want to be a part of innovation in generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) evaluation? Join the Data Foundation’s Center for Evidence Capacity for a members-only, interactive roundtable session to help develop evaluation standards for Large Language Models (LLMs). Dr. Damme will share how her small project to build a LLM to support early career evaluators evolved into an effort to develop better, social science-informed standards for evaluating LLM applications that go beyond performance and risk. In this interactive session, Dr. Damme will facilitate a discussion to get your perspectives on critical components of assessing GenAI and what evaluation standards might shape the LLM.
Why attend: If you are interested in or thinking about how GenAI applications will impact individuals, public institutions, culture and society, then you should join this interactive roundtable! In particular, if you are a:
Then you may be interested in attending to learn more about the project and provide your inputs.
About the project: Working with the support of 45+ expert evaluators globally, Dr. Damme is creating an accessible, conversational GenAI tool that provides evaluation design support to early career practitioners. Her research includes developing performance rubrics and indicators that draw from social science research foundations to build a better understanding of the impacts of LLMs on evaluators. Her model will be tested by the expert group and public policy graduate students studying evaluation at George Washington University in the coming months.
